Comprehensive vision and eye health examination: During each eye exam we determine the glasses prescription that will help you see your best. Also, each exam includes computerized testing of your visual fields for blind spots, and a digital retinal image. Finally, the health portion of your exam includes testing for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and other medical conditions.
Contact lenses: In addition to standard soft and oxygen-permeable rigid contact lenses, we prescribe contact lenses for patients with astigmatism, who need bifocals, or are interested in daily disposable or CRT lenses (www.paragoncrt.com)
Laser Refractive Surgery: Dr. Kessler has received special training and certification in refractive surgery care. If you choose to have the LASER procedure to reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses or contact lenses, he can provide your pre- and post-operative consultation and care. For more information about laser refractive surgery options, see www.LASIK.com
Medical eye care: Dr. Kessler has received post- graduate training and is certified and licensed to treat eye diseases and infections, as well as to remove foreign bodies from the eyes. This often saves you a trip to the emergency room or urgent care center. He will also work with you to co-manage your pre- and post surgical cataract care if needed.
Low Vision Rehabilitation: Through the use of optical aids such as spectacles, magnifiers, and spectacle- mounted telescopes, as well as non-optical aids, a significant number of people who have lost vision from cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy can be helped. The goal is to help people with vision loss use their remaining vision most effectively with activities of daily living, including reading, watching TV, and sewing. Dr. Kessler was director of the University of Wisconsin Low Vision Rehabilitation Service for 26 years, and has helped hundreds of people to keep living independently.
Computer Vision: Computer use often causes a condition called "computer vision syndrome". Some of the symptoms can include dry eye, blurry vision, head/neck aches, and double vision. If you spend time in front of a computer, ask us how to help you see clearly and comfortably with special lenses designed for computer use.
